Promenons-nous dans le bois

NEW Just found this lovely karaoke version with vocab games too on http://www.jeuchanteenclasse.com/

This song is on Fun with French CD from Early Learning Centre or
Hear it on comptines.net under "P"
Children walk around singing as the wolf gets his clothes on! When he is dressed he chases them!
Tous: everyone
Prom'nons-nous dans le bois let's go for a walk in the wood (some versions have les bois - the woods)
Pendant que le loup n'y est pas while the wolf isn't there
Si le loup y était if the wolf was there
Il nous mangerait, he would eat us
Mais puisqu' il n'y est pas but since he isn't there ( or comme il n'y est pas as he's not there)
Il nous mang'ra pas. he won't eat us

Loup y es-tu ? Are you there wolf?
(Entends-tu ? can you hear?)
Que fais-tu ? what are you doing?

Le loup: the wolf
Je mets ma culotte I'm putting on my trousers

Tous:
Prom'nons-nous dans les bois
Pendant que le loup n'y est pas
Si le loup y 'était
Il nous mangerait.....

Le loup:
Je mets ma chemise ! (shirt)

Je mets mes chaussettes ! (socks)

Je mets ma cravate! (tie)

J'arrive. (I'm coming)

Tous:
Sauvons-nous ! (run!)

other clothes to put on: mes lunettes - my glasses, ma veste - my jacket, mes bottes - my boots, mes chaussures - my shoes, mon chapeau - my hat)

lundi matin, l'empereur

Lovely repetitive song for the days of the week
lundi matin

lundi matin, le roi, sa femme et le petit prince
sont venus chez moi pour me serrer la pince.
mais comme j'étais parti, le petit prince a dit:
"puisque c'est ainsi nous reviendrons mardi"

On Monday morning the emperor, his wife and the little prince
came to my house to shake my hand
but since I had left the little prince said
since this is the way it is we will come back on Tuesday

I have had a lot of fun with this song. You can make up new verses. You can change to mon pays d'Ecosse. Photo is from a teacher training group on Islay ca 1998! Happy days.
sing every line twice, easy for pupils to copy

Dans mon pays d’Espagne - olé 2x
' Y a un soleil, comme ça make a circle sun

Dans mon pays d’Espagne - olé
' Y a des montagnes, comme ça make pointed mountains
' Y a un soleil, comme ça

Dans mon pays d’Espagne - olé
Et ' y a la mer, comme ça make waves for the sea
' Y a des montagnes, comme ça
' Y a un soleil, comme ça

Dans mon pays d’Espagne - olé
' Y a des taureaux, comme ça make horns for the bulls
Et ' y a la mer, comme ça
' Y a des montagnes, comme ça
' Y a un soleil, comme ça

Dans mon pays d’Espagne - olé
' Y a des danseuses, comme ça one arm up, one down like dancers
' Y a des taureaux, comme ça
Et ' y a la mer, comme ça
' Y a des montagnes, comme ça
' Y a un soleil, comme ça

Dans mon pays d’Espagne - olé
' Y a du bon vin, comme ça drink the wine
' Y a des danseuses, comme ça
' Y a des taureaux, comme ça
Et ' y a la mer, comme ça
' Y a des montagnes, comme ça

une souris verte

A traditional song for young children
Hear it sung here on hello world
Une souris verte
Qui courait dans l'herbe
Je l'attrape par la queue,
Je la montre à ces messieurs,
Ces messieurs me disent :
Trempez-la dans l'huile,
Trempez-la dans l'eau,
Ça fera un escargot
Tout chaud.

A green mouse
that was running in the grass
I catch it by the tail
I show it to those men
Those men tell me:
Dip it in oil
Dip it in water
It will become a hot snail.
